Day One- Home is *Somewhere*

I am still rather singed and dishevelled since travelling through what I have been  told was a rift in time and space.  So many emotions are spinning through my head, but I must stay composed. The crew of the HMS Intrepid, my faithful servant Algernon, and I were coming close to discovering who or what is behind the ever-increasing disappearances of the birds, bees, and beautiful dragons. Just as we were about to make a breakthrough, there was a loud crack and flash of lights. I can still see spots. When my vision returned, I was no longer standing on my airship, nor was my crew present. The surroundings were unfamiliar as were the faces that greeted me. I thought I heard the familiar voice of Algy, but soon realized no one else could hear him. What I can gather from these friendly strangers is that they are a group whose job it is to repair fractures in time, such as the one I traveled through. One of the crew heads up the hazardous material cleanup. They have promised they will try everything they can to restore Algy to his former self, although I am not completely convinced they believed me when I told them he was trapped inside my brass duck cane. They have also promised they will help to try and find a way for me to return home. In the meantime, I plan to do what I can to help them as well. I think I shall go have a cup of tea and try to gather my thoughts. That is, if this universe has tea.

Warmest Regards,
Deanna Jackson
